dont try this at home

I love getting together with friends for game nights.  One of my all time favorite games is something that we call The Drawing Game, but I've heard it called other things as well (Drawing Telephone, for one).  It's easy to learn, and always results in total hilarity.

What you need: paper cut into quarters (we use scrap paper that's been printed on one side, then recycle everything when we're done); pens; 6-8 friends (we've played with up to 10, but 6-8 is definitely ideal).

To Play:
1. Everyone starts with a stack of paper - you'll need the same number of pieces as players (so for six players, take six pieces of paper).  Number each piece.

2. Write a phrase, sentence, scene, etc. on the piece of paper numbered 1.  For example - "Cookie Monster and Bart Simpson throw a birthday party."  Flip the paper over to hide what you've written (leaving it on top), and pass your entire stack to the person on your left (or right, if you prefer - just keep passing in the same direction throughout the entire game).

3.  You now have a new stack in front of you.  Pick up the top piece of paper (#1) and read it.  Place it on the bottom of the stack.  Pick up paper #2, and draw whatever paper #1 said.  Flip paper #2 over, leaving it on the top of the stack. Pass the entire stack to the left.

4.  Once again, you have a new stack in front of you.  Pick up the top piece of paper (#2), and look at the drawing.  Put #2 on the bottom of the stack.  Pick up paper #3, and write whatever you saw on paper #2.

5.  Continue alternating between writing and drawing until your original stack is passed back to you.  Now it's time for the best part - each player shows the group the progression from the first piece of paper to the last.  Be prepared to laugh so hard that your abs will be sore the next day.
